Fundraising
01 What support can I expect for fundraising?
The Great Generation will help you set up a BT My Donate page for online donations and share with you all the knowledge we have accumulated through our participants
02 What does my fundraising cover?
Your fundraising (or personal contribution) covers all the costs associated with your placement. This includes all the support that goes around organising the project and travelling costs (in-country transport, accommodation, subsistence).
03 Are there any hidden costs?
No. The amount we ask you to fundraise or contribute is fixed and covers all the costs of taking you on a project. However, you MUST have adequate travel insurance and this you will have to cover yourself. Also, depending on the country you visit you may have to pay for some of your essential travel vaccinations or a travel visa. We will provide you with specific advice about these requirements in your info packs and at your briefing sessions.
04 What is the deadline for completing my fundraising?
Your fundraising contribution is made in three installments. A deposit is transferred at registration to secure your place on the project and is non-refundable, 50{097c733559e2981b028b95cd65cba7d13782e51b52d00aab952de001bb84ea91} is transferred 12 weeks before the project starts, and the balance is to be transferred 6 weeks before the project starts. We will send you a fundraising transfer schedule upon registration that you will need to sign and send back to us. However, you are free to continue fundraising after you return from your project, for as long as you wish.
05 What happens if I do not raise enough money?
When you commit to a project, we expect you to be in a position to cover any remaining amounts due to complement your fundraising. Most of our groups are very successful in their efforts, but this request is necessary given the commitment we make to our local partners.
06 What happens to my fundraising if I withdraw from a project?
In the event you are unable to participate in their chosen project, any costs incurred will be deducted from the fundraising payments made to date. The remainder will be retained as part of the fundraising to go towards the project fund - a cancellation not only impacts local partner and community, it also impacts the group and the financial viability of the project. A cancellation of your participation in a project must be made in writing with as much notice as possible.
07 What if the project is cancelled?
In the unlikely case that a project is cancelled, The Great Generation will help you to either return donations made through BT My Donate or direct it to a different project.

The Great Generation is constantly looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our projects. How you can take part.
